Opposes abortions in later terms unless to save mother
On abortion: "My belief when it comes to abortion is they should be rare, we should do everything we can to cut down on unwanted pregnancies, they should be legal, and when they are done, they should be done safely," he said. "I don't
support abortions in the later terms unless it's to save the life of the mother or for the health of the mother," Brindisi said. "It's a very personal decision that should be left between the mother and the healthcare provider."

Abortion is a decision between woman and her doctor
Brindisi believes that access to health and reproductive care are important, as well. He said the government should not get in the way of a woman's right to health care, even if that health care decision involves a possible abortion. "I believe abortion
is a serious and personal decision and women should be able to make that decision on their own, with their doctor," Brindisi said. "What I've supported is abortions past 20 weeks in the event that they need to save the mother."

Champion of reproductive freedom: a "Man for Choice"
We need champions for reproductive freedom like Anthony Brindisi in Congress. As a member of New York's Pro-Choice Legislative Caucus, Anthony has fought for the basic idea that women should be trusted to make our own healthcare decisions.
He understands that's key to gender equality, and that's why we're proud to support him as a Man for Choice. This race is key to establishing a pro-choice majority in the House of Representatives, and we'll fight hard to see him elected.

PVS self-description: "The Political Courage Test provides voters with positions on key issues. Historically, candidates have failed to complete our test due to the advice they receive from their advisors and out of fear of negative attack ads."
