Live by the rule of law, not by the Patriot Act
Q: Do you think the Patriot Act harms civil liberties or respects civil liberties?A: Yes. It is more important than ever to live by the rule of law. Protecting each individual is essential to the vitality of the country as a whole.
If the individual is well, the country is well. If the whole is well, the individual is well. Only be protecting each individual can we protect ourselves and everyone else. Yes, the Patriot Act harms civil liberties.

Let Generals & experts decide on army deployment
Q: Do you support or oppose expanding the armed forces?A: MAYBE. The Generals decide our needs, not me. Normally, I would say all the army we need is what will protect our people here at home. However, threats to us from afar mean we need more
information and experts to tell us what it needed where and why. Elected officials then have to decide if that merits supplying the [armed forces] where they wish. Maintain a level of armed forces per military recommendations based on true dangers to US.

Supports spending on Missile Defense (“Star Wars”)
A home based defense is far better than having troops and ships stationed all over the world. A strong
defense of our own shores is better than any offensive actions. We must stop interfering in other nations so they come to hate us and everything we represent. We can have peace by being peaceful.

Opposes more spending on Armed Forces personnel
I trust the Joint Chiefs to tell us what is needed to maintain a stong defense. I would draw the line at any overseas bases or deploymnet of personnel.
Let American citizens join the armies of other nations if they wish. Otherwise we should be neutral at all times. Military spending should be limited to defensive weapons and deployment only.
