2020 Conventions: on Technology

Donald Trump: America will put first woman on moon, & flag on Mars

We will launch a new age of American Ambition in Space. America will land the first WOMAN on the moon -- and the United States will be the first nation to plant its flag on Mars.

We want our sons and daughters to know the truth: America is the greatest and most exceptional nation in the history of the world! We are a nation of fierce, proud, and independent American Patriots. We are a nation of pilgrims, pioneers, adventurers, explorers and trailblazers who refused to be tied down, held back, or reined in. Americans have steel in their spines, grit in their souls, and fire in their hearts. There is no one like us on earth.

Socialist Party: Fund public transportation, high-speed rail

The Socialist Party calls for extensive public transportation in both urban and rural areas.

We call for the creation of a fully funded high-speed national rail system with fares set low enough to be a viable alternative to the use of the automobile. We call for an end to the expansion of the interstate highway system and the reduction of combustion engine/auto based transport.

Democratic Party: Restore FCC's authority to enforce net neutrality

We will increase public investment in rural, urban, and Tribal broadband infrastructure. Democrats will restore the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) clear authority to take strong enforcement action against broadband providers who violate net neutrality principles through blocking, throttling, paid prioritization, or other measures that create artificial scarcity and raise consumer prices for this vital service.

Green Party: We support all efforts to achieve net neutrality

Green Party: Protect software by copyright, not patent

The Green Party supports protection of software (free or proprietary) by means of the copyright. We strongly oppose granting of software patents. Mathematical algorithms are discovered, not invented, by humans; therefore, they are not patentable. Format patents only exist to restrain competition, and the harm falls disproportionately on programmers who work independently or for the smallest employers.

Constitution Party: Reject PATRIOT Act and all such laws

The USA PATRIOT Act permits arrests without warrants and secret detention without counsel, wiretaps without court supervision, searches and seizures without notification to the individual whose property is invaded and a host of other violations. Since we will no longer have a free nation while the federal government can violate our rights, we call for the rejection of all such laws.
